The Helambu Trek is a short and accessible journey, reaching a maximum elevation of 3500m. Amidst vibrant rhododendron flowers, pine forests, and lush meadows, trekkers enjoy panoramic views of majestic peaks like Gauri Shankar, Langtang, and Ganesh Himal. The trail, going through Shivapuri National Park, provides a unique opportunity to explore Buddhist culture, with visits to ancient monasteries, shrines, and stupas, and immerse in the diverse traditions of Tibetan, Tamang, Sherpa, and Hyolmo ethnic communities.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, TIA over representative will receive you and transfer to your hotel. Over representative will brief you on Helambu hiking trekking program.

Drive to Sundarijal for 1 hour and then hike to Chisapani From Kathmandu, the trek's beginning location is a 15-kilometer drive away. Once you get to Sundarijal, you can visit the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The trail ascends to the concrete stairs next to the pipeline that carries the valley's drinking water from Sundarijal. Leaving the pipeline close to the dam, we continue on to Mul Kharka while hiking up the hill at a height of around 1895 meters, above Sundarijal. There, you can spend some time unwinding in a handy tea shop while admiring the scenery of the valley in the distance. Then, we carry on walking to Chisapani (2300m), where we may enjoy breathtaking mountain views. Highlights: Oaks, a rhododendron forest, sweeping Himalayan views, and waterfalls are the day's main highlights.

The trail descends from Chisapani to the picturesque tiny town of Pati Bhanjyang (1770m). After arriving at Pati Bhanjyang (2140m), the trail ascends and descends to the settlement of Gul Bhanjyang. From here, the track ascends to a height of 2620 meters before descend ing once more through a rocky path to Kutumsang (2470m). Highlights: The mountains, meadows, and fields in the Langtang Range are the main daytime attractions

The trail continues along a slope, passing through a sparsely popu lated forest to Magen Goth, where the vista of Langtang and Gosaikunda peaks is breathtaking, before arriving at Tharepati (3490m). One of the nicest ridge hikes among all the treks in Nepal is this one. From here, a route leads northwest to Gosaikunda. Highlights: Snow-capped mountains and a rhododendron forest are the day's main attractions.

After making a sharp turn to the east, the trail quickly drops via the little Sherpa settlement of Malemchigaon (2530m), which has lovely lodges and beautiful, historically significant, artistic gompas. The trail again descends after leaving the settlement, passing across Malemchi Khola on a bridge at 1890 meters and beginning the arduous ascent up the opposite side of the valley to Tarke Gyang, the highest village in Helambu, at 2620 meters. Highlights: The day's main attractions are Sherpa Village, Melamchi Gaun, monasteries, and a lovely forest.

The trails gently drop to Sermathang in a lovely woodland (2620m). It is in the middle of an important apple-growing area and has a beautiful view of the Himalayas. Highlights: The day's main attractions are Sermathang and Melam chi Pul Bazar (846m).

Back to Kathmandu. The paths continue to descend as we leave Sermathang, first to Dubhachaur at 1500 meters, then again sharply to Melamchi (830 meters), where they meet the road. There are plenty of teahouses and lodges in this village. From there, catch our vehicle from Panchkhal to Kodari road & Kathmandu (5 hours of drive).
